Code of Conduct


The Long Island Curling Club’s Code of Conduct is intended to ensure that our club’s activities remain welcoming and inclusive for all. Long Island Curling Club is committed to a positive curling experience for all Members and Guests.


The Code of Conduct will be enforced inside all spaces managed or organized by Long Island Curling Club. This includes, but is not limited to: on-ice activities, off-ice social events organized by the club, mailing lists and other forms of media communication.

This Code of Conduct also covers events in which you are officially representing Long Island Curling Club. Examples include playdowns, regional and national competitions, any bonspiels or competitions where you play “under the flag” of Long Island Curling Club.


Curlers’ Code of Ethics

  • I will play the game with a spirit of good sportsmanship.

  • I will conduct myself in an honorable manner both on and off the ice.

  • I will never knowingly break a rule, but if I do I will divulge the breach.

  • I will take no action that could be interpreted as an attempt to intimidate or demean any opponents, teammates or officials.

  • I will interpret the rules in an impartial manner, always keeping in mind the purpose of the rules is to ensure the game is played in an orderly and fair manner.

  • I will humbly accept any penalty the governing body at any level of curling deems appropriate if I am found in violation of the Code of Ethics or Rules of the game.

  • I will treat all members, guests, staff of venues and other patrons fairly, equally and with respect and courtesy.

  • I will behave responsibly and ensure I conduct myself in a manner that will not injure the reputation of the Club, its events, organizers or participants.

  • I will not physically or verbally harass others.

Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in your removal from Long Island Curling Club activities, suspension or termination of your membership with Long Island Curling Club.
